RITES Limited is a 'Navratna' Schedule A' Central Public Sector Enterprise was established under Ministry of Railways, Government of India, on April 26, 1974. The Company is engaged in Design Engineering, Project Management Consultancy, Turnkey Construction, Export of Rolling Stocks, Locomotive Leasing, and Quality Assurance, serving multiple sectors including railways, highways, metros, bridges & tunnels, sustainability and green mobility, airports, land ports, ropeways, urban planning and infrastructure, ports and harbors, institutional buildings etc. It provides services of third party inspection, quality assurance, construction supervision & project management, operations & maintenance, leasing, export of rolling stock and modernization of railways workshop projects, doubling and electrification on turnkey basis. As of 31 March 2025, the President of India through the Ministry of Railways is presently holding 72.20% equity share of the Company.
RITES is a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Railways, Ministry of Railways, Government of India and has so far served clients in more than 55 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, South America and Middle East region and is presently serving in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mozambique, Mauritius and Botswana.
