The Company changed its name from Associated Battery Makers (Eastern) Limited to Chloride India Limited on August 2, 1972. Thereafter, the name of the Company was changed from Chloride India Limited to Chloride Industries Limited on October 12, 1988 and further to Exide Industries Limited on August 25, 1995. Headquartered in Kolkata, Company manufactures lead acid storage batteries and inverters.
