Gold futures rose toward $4,500 an ounce on Tuesday, marking the third consecutive gain as a weaker US dollar and increased demand for safe assets supported prices. Ongoing geopolitical uncertainty fuelled investor interest in gold. The dollar index remained around 99.7 as markets prepared for important US inflation data, with CPI due Wednesday and producer-price data on Thursday. In India, MCX October gold futures increased 0.4% to Rs.1,53,669 per 10 grams, while silver futures fell 0.4% to Rs.2,36,048 per kg.
