Kotak Securities Limited, a subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank, is the stock broking and distribution arm of the Kotak Mahindra Group. The company was set up in 1994. During the year 2001-2002, the company achieved a more than modest penetration in the retail markets through the establishment of several new officers across 23 cities in the country. During the same year, the company introduced the online trading module to enhance user friendliness and customer satisfaction.
During the year 2002-2003, the company developed in-house expertise to shake knowledge and strategies with its customer to be able to offer them superior investment alternative using a combination of appropriate capital market products. During the same year, the company established about more than 150 officers across 40 cities. During the year 2003-2004, the company expanded its franchise network and developed a customer service desk & product desk team for dissemination of daily market information.
During the year 2004-2005, the company continued to play an important role in primary public offering and was associated in 26 issues. The company launched many new facilities and services like the Easy Mutual Funds and Easy IPO Service, unique facilities to invest in IPOs and mutual funds on the phone.
During the year 2005-2006, the company online trading website was renamed as Kotaksecurities.com from Kotakstreet.com and in the same year the company also introduced trading on Bombay Stock Exchange, being the first to offer live streaming quotes.
During the year 2008-2009, the company in association with Saxo Capital Markets Pte Ltd launched of Saxo's global trading platform in India, which would provide direct access to equities, ETF's and REITS spanning 24 stock exchanges across the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia.
