I am planning to invest a part of my money in FDs and wanted to know if the interest earned would be taxable

Interest on fixed depsoits is TAXABLE at your marginal tax rate. The interest earned is added to your regular income under the head “other income”. Tax on the interest earned is deducted at source (TDS). However, if the interest earned is less than Rs. 10,000 then there is no TDS. interest on FD is ure income and always taxable
